COVID-19 Updates from Alinea's Executive Director

19 February 2021

It is pleasing to see the Australian rollout of Covid-19 vaccination finally getting underway, with it occurring in some facilities from next Monday. We applaud the Commonwealth Government’s decision that aged care and disability residents and workers would be amongst the first to receive the vaccine. Alinea has been a supporter of the flu vaccination and similarly strongly encourages everyone able to obtain a Covid-19 vaccination. Alinea management and staff are currently assessing the requirements to ensure a smooth roll out across all facilities for both residents and staff once we are provided with a date.

14 February 2021

From Sunday 14 February, State Government directives for visitors to residential aged care facilities have been downgraded from No.6 to No.4.

Family members can visit residents however you should not visit if you have:

  • returned from overseas in the last 14 days
  • been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • a fever or symptoms of acute respiratory infection (e.g. cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath)
  • not had an up-to-date influenza vaccination.

Please refer to the Visitors to Residential Aged Care Facilities Directions No.4 for further information

8 February 2021

In accordance with the Visitors to Residential Aged Care Facilities Directions No.6 issued 5 February 2021, all Alinea aged care facilities will continue to have visitor restrictions in place until further WA State directives have been given to downgrade such restrictions. Alinea will attempt to support family members and residents by allowing visitations on compassionate grounds. These visits will be at the discretion of the facility manager.

All Alinea retail operations will re-open with current WA State directives in mind and with an effort to minimise public health risk.

31 January 2021

The State Government has announced a five-day lock down commencing Sunday, January 31, 2021 until 6pm Friday, February 5, 2021 for Perth, Peel and the South-West, due to an evolving situation with a hotel quarantine worker testing positive for COVID-19. The full announcement can be read here. In line with the WA State Directives, all Alinea Residential Aged Care Facilities will be in lockdown during this period. Visits will only be permitted for exceptional compassionate circumstances, at the discretion of the Manager.

Alinea will also be closing all retail services during this period.
